Their classification\n    has developed through comparative research involving phonology, vocabulary,\n    sound correspondences, geography and historical evidence.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <h2>From Elugbe to Later Classifications<\/h2>\n\n  <p>\n    The first panel presents the historical Edoid family classification\n    associated with <strong>Ben Ohi\u1ecdmamh\u1eb9 Elugbe (1989)<\/strong>. In this\n    classification, Edo (Bini) is placed within the\n    <strong>Proto-North-Central Edoid<\/strong> grouping.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <p>\n    The second panel presents the major subsequent work of\n    <strong>Ademola Anthony Lewis (2013)<\/strong>, whose research revised and\n    expanded the internal relationships of North Edoid languages.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <p>\n    The third panel presents a more recent reference perspective. Modern\n    classifications continue to refine subgroupings as additional linguistic\n    evidence becomes available.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <h2>Edo (Bini)<\/h2>\n\n  <p>\n    Across these classification traditions, <strong>Edo (Bini)<\/strong>\n    remains associated with the <strong>North-Central Edoid<\/strong> grouping.\n    This is an important part of the linguistic history of the language of the\n    Benin people.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <h2>\u1eb8domaye Research Note<\/h2>\n\n  <p>\n    Linguistic classifications are scholarly models. They may be revised as\n    researchers obtain new phonological, lexical, morphological, geographical\n    and historical evidence.
